COVID Update

Effective Immediately as of Monday, February 7, 2022

This new guidance applies specifically to close contact students because an individual who lives in the same household is Covid-19 positive.

Effective Immediately: If a student is in the same household as a Covid-19 positive case, they must either stay at home for ten (10) days after close contact exposure or return to school after day five (5) if they receive a negative lab-confirmed Covid-19 test result (test must occur on day 5 or later).

If the student is up-to-date on Covid-19 vaccinations and provide proof of immunization, they will not need to stay home unless they develop symptoms. Up-to-date on Covid-19 vaccinations means a person has received all recommended Covid-19 vaccinations, including any booster dose(s) when eligible.

If the student has had lab-confirmed Covid-19 within the past 90 days, they will not need to stay home unless they develop symptoms.

Contact the school nurse if your child is in the same household as a Covid-19 positive case or receives a positive Covid-19 test. The nurse will also need a copy of the Covid-19 test result.

Please note that these guidelines, protocols, and requirements can change at any moment. Notifications and updates about Covid-19 can be found on https://covid.visd.net/
