YMCA Afterschool Academy

VISD has partnered with the Barbara Bauer Briggs Family YMCA to provide an after-school enrichment program for students in grades pre-k through 5. The YMCA Afterschool Academy will be offered at these campuses: 

  • Aloe Elementary

  • Crain Elementary

  • DeLeon Elementary

  • Dudley Elementary

  • Rowland Elementary

  • Shields Elementary

  • Smith Elementary

Registration

Registration is available through our website.

Online registration ONLY reserves a spot for your child. Your child is NOT registered for a YMCA Afterschool Program until you complete the registration form* and turn it in or email it to the Childcare Billing office. 

*Every line of the registration form MUST be filled out. Forms with blanks will not be accepted. List "N/A" if necessary. Once complete, you may turn in the paperwork to the YMCA Childcare Department at 1806 N. Nimitz or email Dionne Vela at dvela@ymcavictoria.org

The YMCA Afterschool Program will be available Monday-Friday (when school is in session) from dismissal to 6:30 p.m. Weekly rates and drop-in rates are available. Full daycare is also available during school breaks. CCS is accepted and financial assistance is available. 

This is a state-licensed program, providing safe, exciting, and educational activities for your child. Our staff encourages your child to be involved in the STEM, arts & crafts, and outdoor activities implemented in our program. We provide homework time daily and structured fun time. 

The YMCA Afterschool Program is:

  • CCS (Child Care Services) Vendor

  • Licensed by the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services

  • Low staff-to-child ratios

  • Highly qualified staff who receive ongoing education

  • All staff undergo pre-employment drug tests & background checks

What we offer:

  • Fun, engaging curriculum to include but not limited to Arts & Crafts, Health, Wellness & Fitness, Math & Literacy

Pricing

One Time Registration Fee: $45

Weekly: $50 Y Members/$55 Community
