Burlington Stores, one of the fastest growing national off-price retailers offering amazing deals on top-quality brands for the entire family and home, has donated $5,000 through its partnership with the national non-profit organization, AdoptAClassroom.org, in celebration of its new store now open in Victoria at 8907 North Navarro Street. Funds will be used towards school supplies to help ensure students at Vickers Elementary have the learning materials and tools they need to succeed now and in the future.
A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org reached out to district and school administrators and helped to secure the donation for Vickers Elementary, which will support 32 classrooms with new supplies.
According to Principal Erin Mills, the teachers will use the funds on a number of new classroom items like classroom books and literacy resources, hands-on math and science materials, art and creative learning supplies, flexible seating and classroom organization tools, technology and learning manipulatives, and supplies that support small-group instruction and enrichment.
“On behalf of Victoria ISD, I would like to welcome our local Burlington store to Victoria, TX, and acknowledge their generous donation to Vickers Elementary through AdoptAClassroom.org,” said Superintendent of Schools Sheila Collazo. “This donation reinforces staff contributions and the impact of this campus team on transforming students and instructional programs. When partnerships like this exist, schools excel.”
