Student Priority Registration April 1-30

Each spring, Victoria ISD begins planning for the next school year. One of the most important steps in that process is Student Priority Registration. For the 2026–27 school year, Student Priority Registration runs from April 1 through April 30.

This is the time when families of both returning and new students are asked to complete the registration process for the upcoming school year. Registering during this window ensures your child’s seat is saved at their home campus and helps the district prepare for the year ahead.

While registration will remain open after April 30, completing it during the priority window makes a meaningful difference for schools and students.

When families register early, campuses receive a clearer picture of how many students they will be serving in the coming school year. This information allows principals and district leaders to make informed decisions about staffing, course offerings, and classroom planning. Knowing how many students are expected at each campus helps determine how many teachers are needed, how class schedules are built, and what programs or courses can be offered.

For example, student registration numbers help guide decisions such as how many sections of certain classes will be available, what elective courses can be offered at the secondary level, and how campuses allocate staff to support student needs. Accurate early registration data also helps ensure class sizes remain balanced and students have access to the learning opportunities they expect.

Simply put, the earlier families register, the better schools can plan.

Student Priority Registration also helps campuses prepare important resources before the first day of school. Registration numbers help guide decisions related to transportation planning, classroom assignments, instructional materials, and campus services that support students throughout the school year.

For families, completing registration early also helps make the start of the school year smoother. When registration is finalized ahead of time, campuses can ensure that student information is up to date and that schedules, teacher assignments, and other details are prepared before the first day of school.

Families who do not receive their Snapcode by Monday, March 30, are encouraged to contact VISD Student Services for assistance.

Both new and returning students will be required to provide proof of address and a parent or guardian photo ID during the registration process. Students enrolling in Early Education, Pre-K3, Pre-K, Kindergarten, or seventh grade must also submit an updated immunization record.

Campuses will contact families directly if any additional documentation is needed.

Victoria ISD encourages families to mark their calendars and take advantage of Student Priority Registration from April 1 through April 30. Completing registration during this window ensures your child’s seat is secured at their home campus and helps schools prepare for a successful year of learning.

By registering early, families are helping campuses plan ahead, support students effectively, and ensure everything is ready for the first day of the 2026–27 school year.
